Lash Shedding

PSA-Note to clients and lash artists **
For those of you who don’t know, your lashes are supposed to shed. We lose 1-5 lashes per day. It increases during the spring and fall. Your lashes have a growth cycle just like any other hair on your body. The same way our hair grows out and you see your roots after getting it colored, is just the same as your lashes growing out and you needing a fill in.
During the spring and fall our lashes tend to go through the shedding process quicker so if you notice them coming out a little quicker it’s completely normal. Fills May become every week vs every two-three weeks.
Please note that it’s not always your artist’s fault when your lashes come out. If you don’t follow proper aftercare with your lashes, you can cause them to come off quickly.
Also note, if you have naturally oily skin , you may have even more issues with retention.
If you have super dry skin, dry pores, it can cause your lash ph balance to become unbalanced and cause your lashes to become super brittle and fall off.
Lash extensions can typically an entire lash cycle as long as proper aftercare is taken and great quality products are used.
We as lash artists ensure the best service possible. Please be sure to follow all rules after your service has been completed.
To Lash Artists:
Please invest in a hygrometer to measure your temperature and humidity in your lash area. If your humidity is off, this can cause retention problems. Please be sure to discard your glue every 4-6 weeks. Old glue / tacky glue can definitely cause retention problems. Make sure that you’re isolation properly and applying the lashes to ONE SINGLE NATURAL lash at a time. Applying them to more than one lash cause eventually cause pain to your client and permanent nerve tension in the eyelid from them being in different growth stages and pulling.
